We are a non-profit PTSD/TBI service dog training center. We will assist you in training your dog to become a service to help you with your PTSD/TBI.
Services Provided
Our service dog training school business includes such components as: Training service dogs for individuals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and ambulatory issues. A selection of any breed of dog in which shows the appropriate behaviors from shelters and rescues. A selection or specialization in the types of tasks the service dog are trained in such as flipping light switches, picking up dropped objects, alerting the person to an alarm, finding help when incapacitated, reminding to take medication, bracing for going down stairs, waking from sleep, reducing the anxiety of a person with PTSD, distracting the person with emotional/psychiatric disabilities when he/she becomes anxious or engages in stemming or other behaviors related to the disability, etc.; a selection or specialization in programmed-trained or assistance to owner-trained animals services; and including cash assistance programs; educational programs such as choosing a service dog, integration of the service dog into the family, financial costs of service dog ownership, the service dog lifestyle, regulations around service dogs in public/work settings, vest etiquette, service dog certification. We will start with in facility training as well as in-home based instruction, public access services. In the future we will have affiliations and referral relationships with other specialists, agencies such as: Counseling and/or psychiatric assistance to identify client’s needs. We will participate in the federal and state reimbursement/ subsidy programs. We offer such value added services as pickup/delivery transportation. We provide the service dog training certifications/registrations/etc. We verify and require appropriate credentials of our training staff. Dog and Tags of Wyoming will use the latest reward based training concept of clicker training. We will provide a kennel service for our clients in a case of emergency as well as kenneling dogs that fit our requirements until they get their human counterpart. We may provide community outreach and awareness programs and services such as school education programs, public service announcements, sponsorship and support of regional/national conferences, and service provider training workshops as requested and fund raising promotional events and collaborative campaigns. In order to be enrolled in our program clients must be medically diagnosed with a form of PTSD and or TBI by an licensed mental health specialist or medical doctor.
